California Cancer Surveillance Program – Neoadjuvant therapy is associated with improved survival in resectable pancreatic adenocarcinoma

Cancer. 2011 May 15;117(10):2044-9.This is the first population-based study to compare neoadjuvant versus adjuvant treatment strategies inresectable pancreatic cancer. Neoadjuvant therapy is associated with a lower rate of lymph node positivity and improvedoverall survival and should be considered an acceptable alternative to the surgery-first paradigm in operable pancreaticcancer.
